Engadine St. Moritz

Zuoz, Engadine, St. Moritz

LEISURE, SPORT, NATURE AND CULTURE

The typical Engadine village of Zuoz is the most beautiful place in the Upper Engadine. The proud patrician houses and mighty residential towers in the historic village bear witness to a colourful past. But in the tradition-conscious village of 1500 inhabitants, where the Romansh language and culture are still upheld, time has definitely not stood still. On the contrary: The village is alive and has moved with the times, with some vibrant splashes of colour and unique additions along the way.

Thanks to its family-friendly offering, Zuoz has been awarded the label Family Destination.

In addition to the shops and exquisite galleries, Zuoz scores high with its new family ski resort, its beautifully landscaped 18-hole golf course, an attractive skating path including skate rental and many hiking, biking and cross-country skiing trails. The highest coffee roaster in Europe and the renowned boarding school the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz are also located in a former Engadine village. And the core speciality of this region is available in abundance: unspoiled nature in all its glory as a fantastic backdrop for all your trips.

THE UPPER ENGADINE

The Upper Engadine is one of the highest inhabited valleys in Europe. After the Ice Age, an 80-kilometre-long high mountain valley remained, at around 1,800 metres, offering breathtaking landscapes and dominated by the Bernina Range with its glaciers, the native larch, stone pine forests and the vast seascape. The Upper Engadine enchants as a landscape and legend, harmoniously blending nature, tradition, and lifestyle.

This elevated alpine vista bathed in southern sun looks as if it has been sculpted by an artist. The mountains are sufficiently wide apart to ensure ample air and light. And yet they are around 4000 metres high, forming a truly impressive backdrop.
The high mountain valley is characterised by its stunning pristine and untouched alpine nature. As guests vacationing here with us, you will be able to immerse yourselves totally in the exquisiteness of unspoiled nature at its most splendid.
