CULINARY DELIGHTS IN THE ALPINE REGION

Under the title "event kitchen and cellar" events are taking place at irregular intervals, which reflect the new kitchen philosophy of the Castell and encourage a closer look at the alpine terroir cuisine. Featured guests are interesting personalities, writers, winemakers, kitchen philosophers, passionate producers, etc… the moderated salon discussions are followed by an aperitif and a menu with accompanying wines that matches the theme.

Christoph Künzli live on Tour 2016

When Christoph Künzli started the project with the LE PIANE winery in Boca in northern Piedmont at the foot of the Alps in1998, the wine area had been forgotten and largely disappeared, although it had been famous for great wines from the Nebbiolo grape until the 1950s. After many years of reconstruction with new plantings and the acquisition of old vines, a winery with nine hectares has arisen and Boca is on everyone's lips again. Especially in Italy, the wines of LE PIANE have been at the centre of attention for a few years now, and all major wine guides mention the wines with top grades. The Boca 2010 has beaten every record: it is listed among the ten best-rated wines in Italy. On July 16, 2016, Christoph Künzli will stop by at the Castell in the context of the "Le Piane Tour de Suisse".
